Dr Shan YIN, Professor and Principal Investigator (PI) of the Urban Ecology and Long-term Observation Research Group, Doctoral Supervisor, and Director of the Department of Resources and Environment. He is also a specially appointed professor of the "Oriental Scholar" program in Shanghai. In recent years, he has undertaken 3 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, two sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program, as well as projects from the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, and the Municipal Greening and Appearance Bureau. He has published over eighty research papers. Dr Yin has received the First Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (2018) and the First Prize in the category of works at the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Awards (2022).
He serves as the Director of the Shanghai Urban Forest Ecosystem Station under the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the Executive Deputy Station Director of the National Eco-Environment Observation and Research Station for the Yangtze River Delta under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution, and an editorial board member of journals such as Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, Landscape Architecture Frontiers, and Chinese Urban Forestry. He is also the responsible person for the top-tier undergraduate course "Nature and Ecology under Global Change" in Shanghai.
